a cement-based, single-component, easy-to-process joint filling material that creates a smooth surface and is used in 1 - 6 mm joints.
Usage areas:
•Indoors.
•In horizontal and vertical applications.
•It is used to fill the joints of ceramics, tiles and similar coating materials up to 1 - 6 mm.
Advantages:
•Does not cause color fading or dust formation.
•Provides a smooth surface.
•It is decorative.
Preparation of the Surface:
• Care should be taken to ensure that the ceramics are well adhered so that they do not move during application, and therefore the adhesive dries completely.
•Any dust, dirt, sawdust, construction and cement residues remaining in the joint gaps on the surfaces where the flooring process has been completed should be thoroughly cleaned with a thin stick or brush.
•Make sure that the joint gaps are at least 2/3 of the ceramic thickness.
•Cleaned spaces should be moistened with a wet sponge.
Preparation of Mortar:
•20 kg DEMAFIX Joint Filling Material ( 1 - 6 mm) is added to approximately 6 - 7 liters of clean water and mixed preferably with a low speed mixer until there are no lumps.
•Attention should be paid to the amount of water added to the powder mortar, and application in the form of sherbet with too much water added should be avoided. Too much water added to the mortar will cause cracking, easy wear and dust.
•The prepared thick joint filler is left to rest for 5 - 10 minutes to mature and is used by mixing again for 1 - 2 minutes.
•The mixture in the container should be consumed within approximately 1 hour.
Application Information:
•The joint filler should be filled into the joints with a hard rubber-tipped check rust or a hard rubber-based joint spreading trowel. In order to fill the gaps thoroughly, they should be drawn first parallel and then diagonally.
should be scraped off with a moistened soft-tipped spatula , waited for 15 - 30 minutes depending on the ambient temperature, and then wiped with a damp sponge to thoroughly clean the thin joint layer that may remain on the surface.
•Joint wiping should not be started prematurely. In order not to cause color fluctuation, it should not be wiped with a wet sponge more than necessary. The sponge used should be cleaned frequently.
•Walls dry after 24 hours, floors can be walked on after 48 hours, and can be opened to pedestrian traffic after 7 days.
Consumption:
See the joint filler consumption table.
Attention:
•Avoid application at temperatures below +5°C and above +35°C.
•Avoid application in areas that are frozen, at risk of freezing within 24 hours, or exposed to direct sun and wind.
•Never add water or powder to expired mortar.
•Joint fillers should not be used with salt spirit, bleach, etc. Do not clean with products. Use Joint Cleaner for cleaning.
